Taekwondo stays Olympic!

According to USTU president Sang Lee, Taekwondo will stay in the Olympic program for the next games in Athens 2004. Against the will of some experts who proposed to expel Taekwondo from the schedule of the games, the IOC made the decision to keep Taekwondo as a permanent sport.

This important decision gives a boost to the development of Taekwondo. The fact that WTF decided to change the point system from one point to multiple points will also change the face of a typical Taekwondo bout from the scratch. No clear ideas have been formed yet but we can be sure to see tournament fighting becoming different.

Expect great changes to come and expect every Taekwondo nation to strive with great power towards the next Olympic Games in Athens 2004!
