A Note to New Students and Parents

Taekwondo training often provides many benefits to children.  When learning Taekwondo, the introverted child often begins to blossom.

The structured drills that involve punching, kicking, and yelling help the youngster to overcome shyness.

The worried child becomes more confident and assertive as he learns to work better with others in a friendly and safe environment.

His or her self-confidence will grow.  The youngster feels less threatened by other children or new situations.

The extroverted youngster has a safe and healthy outlet in which to compete with others as well as challenging himself.

Taekwondo teaches children how to avoid trouble and challenges.

They learn to have enough self-confidence that there will be no

need to respond to teasing or unhealthy peer pressure.

The aggressive child is taught the self- discipline that aids in keeping anger under control.  He or she learns that fighting is merely a way

of showing off and that showing off is a sign of low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence.

Taekwondo offers an additional bonus called self-defense.  In the unsettling times in which we live, knowing how to protect yourself can be

Crucial.  Parents often report feeling more secure knowing their sons and daughters are capable of defending themselves.

Encourage and support your youngster's involvement in Taekwondo.  You will be pleasantly surprised with the result.  Who knows,

you may want to try a class yourself.
